Ciao a tutti, in un libro in inglese ho trovato questi Upbeat accents ma non vengono spiegati bene cosa sarebbero ?

Dovrebbe essere l'anticipo, cioè invece di accentare l'inizio della battuta (downbeat) è accentare l'ultima battuta (upbeat) prima di cadere sul battere della nuova

Semplicemente:

downbeat= battere (1° e 3° movimento della battuta di 4/4)
upbeats = levare (2° e 4° movimento della battuta di 4/4)

In tutta la musica jazz e swing si pensa il tempo accentando il levare della battuta (playing upbeat accents) anziché il battere (playing downbeat accents), modo tipico invece di generi come il rock.  :D

Il levare non è Backbeat?
Io la sapevo cosi 1 Downbeat-On-beat 2 Off-beat 3 On-beat 4 Upbeat-off-beat

Il BackBeat dovrebbe essere suonare su Off Beat quindi il levare

Non saprei... La traduzione dall'inglese dei due termini usati in musica è quella che ho scritto più sopra, ma può darsi che vi siano anche altre denominazioni...  :-\

Sul corso di frethub faceva questa distinzione ma essendo tutto in inglese potrei aver capito fischi per fiaschi...
Però anche wikipedia dice una cosa del genere e differenzia l'upbeat dal backbeat

Downbeat/Upbeat
The downbeat is the first beat of the bar, i.e. number 1. The upbeat is the last beat in the previous bar which immediately precedes, and hence anticipates, the downbeat.[5] Both terms correspond to the direction taken by the hand of a conductor.

BackBeat
A back beat, or backbeat, is a syncopated accentuation on the "off" beat. In a simple 4
4 rhythm these are beats 2 and 4.
