Chitarre con solo un pickup? Folle o interessante?

Nella esquire cambia anche la circuitazione e ci sono quindi alcune opzioni tonali che la normale Tele non ha, tra l'altro a livello temporale la Esquire è la prima chitarra prodotta dalla Fender anche se la Tele è stata lanciata sul mercato solo pochi mesi dopo. La Fender ha prodotto anche la Musicmaster a singolo pickup, una chitarra a 3/4 per lo studio.

• Posizione #1. Il corrispettivo del solo PU al ponte della Tele. Sulla Esquire, però, il pickup è collegato unicamente al pot del volume, bypassando quello del tono. Questo si traduce in un suono più corposo e con più alti
• Posizione #2. Nella posizione centrale, il pickup della Esquire è collegato sia al volume che al tono, similarmente alla Telecaster nella sua posizione 1. Il suono è più caldo rispetto alla posizione 1 della Esquire
• Posizione #3. In questa posizione il controllo è bypassato ancora una volta e il pickup della Esquire è collegata al volume tramite una resistenza in grado di assicurare un tono molto "scuro" e un output appena ridotto. Leo intese questa posizione come preset "basso", permettendo ai chitarristi degli anni 50 di accompagnare similarmente a come si potrebbe fare con un basso semplicemente selezionando questa posizione

Pur preferendo la Gibson alla Fender, devo ammettere che Leo Fender era un "GENIO" con la "G" maiuscola, e pensare che lui non sapeva suonare la chitarra, ma aveva queste intuizioni fuori dalla norma, la moglie in un intervista disse che lui aveva sempre la mente rivolta a pensare a delle innovazioni, tant'è vero che una volta seduti al bar gli venne un' ispirazione su una cosa ma non aveva della carta per disegnare "l' invenzione" ( a quei tempi non c'era il pc  ) allora prese la carta della scatola dei biscotti la vuotò e ci disegnò sopra la bozza del progtto pensato...... FANTASTICO !

Pur preferendo la Gibson alla Fender, devo ammettere che Leo Fender era un "GENIO" con la "G" maiuscola, e pensare che lui non sapeva suonare la chitarra, ma aveva queste intuizioni fuori dalla norma, la moglie in un intervista disse che lui aveva sempre la mente rivolta a pensare a delle innovazioni, tant'è vero che una volta seduti al bar gli venne un' ispirazione su una cosa ma non aveva della carta per disegnare "l' invenzione" ( a quei tempi non c'era il pc  ) allora prese la carta della scatola dei biscotti la vuotò e ci disegnò sopra la bozza del progtto pensato......
